When it no longer matters

“I was curious if you’d be willing to swap weekends of teh 8th and 14th so that you have them the 8th and I would have them valentine’s day weekend?”

I looked at the text message from my Ex.  I paused for a second, my first instinct had been to ask, “Why, what do you have planned?” but it occurred to me that I don’t care.  All that mattered was whether I could accomodate the arrangement or not.  I did some checking and I saw no reason I couldn’t do it.

“Yeah, I can probably do that.”

And that’s it.  No further communication needed.   And suddenly I have an evening on Valentine’s Day weekend that I can spend alone with the woman I love.

Time does heal all wounds
